Here a few things to keep in mind for this week:   *  In Literacy, we will be working on the letter D d.  Some words that begin with this letter are dinosaur, diary, DS, dougnut, dog, duck, diamond, daisy, dalmation, deer, dream, and deep.  Show and Tell will be on Friday so have fun hunting for something that begins with the /d/ sound.     *  In Math, we will begin Unit 3: Exploring Geometry and Measurement.  The kids usually love this unit.  There will be lots of hands on learning.       *  Please remember that we have Library every Thursday so students should have their Library book on that day.  Also, please remind your child that his/her Library book should always be kept in the Library bag whenever they are not reading it.  Thanks.       *  I will not be sending home guided reading books this week because I am testing for new levels.  Thanks for your understanding.  Students can read the books that were sent home last week.

We made it to last week of school before Christmas.  The Fall went by so quickly.  Here are a few things happening this week: *  In Literacy this week, we will be reviewing what we already learned this fall.  We will also be doing some Christmas activities.  There will be no homework this week except for reading every night and reviewing sight words. *  Our Christmas Concert is on Tuesday, December 17th.  The K-2 concert begins at 9:00 in the gym and the 3-5 concert begins at 12:30.  Please be aware of taking photos and posting them on social media.  Please read the memo I posted on my teacher page or on the home page.  *  We will be having our 4th Annual Cocoa House on Wednesday, December 18th at 6:15 pm.  This is a time where family and friends can sing Christmas carols together, tell Christmas jokes, play the piano/recorder/guitar, etc.  Cookies and hot chocolate will be served.  There will be a dessert auction beforehand in the cafeteria.  All proceeds will go to a Saint Andrew's family.  There will also be a Christmas Photo booth set up in the gym for anyone who would like a family/friend picture taken.  All photos will be $5 for a 5X7 print.  Please come out and support and have fun. *  Also on Wednesday, we will be watching the "Polar Express".  The classroom will be transformed into a train and all Kindergarten students can wear their pajamas to school.  We will be doing related activities on the Polar Express beforehand. *  Friday, December, 20th is our last day of school before Christmas.  I would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and I hope that 2014 brings each of you health and happiness.  Thank you for all of your support you have given so far this year.  It is truly appreciated!
