The month of September will soon
be behind us. We have had a great first month en 3e année. The month of October
will be filled with many fun Halloween activities. Stay tuned :)French - This week we will review oral structures
taught to date. We will continue with:1)
"Ma grandeur"...my height2)
"Ce que j'aime à l'école"...what I like at school3)
"Ce que je n'aime pas à l'école"...what I do not like at school.Record nightly on
the sheet the particular book that your child has read. Books need to
be returned daily so that they can
continue to read all 19 books. Once completed, we will commence "guided
reading" and "Daily 5.” Likewise, we continue to learn
new letters and sounds en Français. Sheets will be sent home to read once
rehearsed in class.Math - We continue
to work on our Numbers unit. Students are learning many
new terms in French. Our objective continues to be read/representing numbers
greater than 100, skip counting to 100, place value, and estimation. Students
also received a math textbook, which will remain in class. Textbooks are new to
students, so they are being taught how to read the books then transfer and
answer questions from the text to their binders. Notices: 1)
Please check my teacher page, reading bag, and agenda's nightly for any
notices, homework, etc.2) Fall

Welcome back. Please know that your child is doing
well and I am very pleased with their results thus far. It is very special to
be learning a second language. Please stay tuned for a special video
presentation next week.
French - This week students will continue to concentrate
on what makes them unique. Discussions, readings and written activities will
incorporate the following:
I have x hair…”J’ai les cheveux x”
I have x eyes…”J’ai les yeux x”
I am bigger and/or smaller than…”Je suis plus grand(e)
que, plus petit(e) que etc.
At present, we are concentrating on sight words. Spelling
words will not be sent home as they are practiced extensively in class
throughout our daily activities. Students have also seen and practiced all the
vowels and we will move on to consonants.
Math - We will also begin our unit on numbers. Aside from
learning the terminology in French, our objective is to read and represent
numbers greater than 100, skip count to 100, place value, and estimation.
