Welcome back J I will be placing class pictures from the past few weeks on my teacher page this week. I am very pleased with everyone's progress thus far. We will begin our week by quickly reviewing the concepts taught last week and then move on to our next section which is all about animals. As we progress though each unit, we continue to build our class word wall and reinforce “no excuse” French words.   French - This week our theme will be all about "pets". Students will learn to identify various animals, express which one's they prefer, and describe in detail a pet of their choice. For example, students will learn to say the following: "mon animal préféré est...", "il s'appelle", "je n'ai pas...", "je veux avoir", etc.   Please continue and read, record, and return your child's book along with his agenda and letter sheet daily. We will soon commence guided reading once the nightly reading books have been completed. Remember as well to continue reading the sound sheet of the night (placed in agenda) and review les "mots outils" located in the box on the bottom of the sheet.   Math - Monday we will review concepts taught to date. Tuesday we will have a small class quiz on number up to 1000 (place value, numbers greater then/less than, etc.) to wrap up our first unit in math. Wednesday we will be moving on to tackle mental math strategies up to 2 digits, along with addition and subtraction of 3 digits numbers where the final answer can be as high as 1000.  Reminders:  - Reading is to occur nightly. Please record on sheet. - Reading bags are to be returned daily - Please sign your child’s agenda to let me know you have reviewed homework Let's have a great week! As always if you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact me.
