Monday, February 13, 2012                              Dear Grade 1 Families,                 This Friday, February 17th will mark the 100th day of school and we will be celebrating all things related to the number 100. If your child would like to create something at home that relates to that cool number we would encourage that they bring it to school on Friday to display in their class. These projects should be simple and will not be marked, but rather a way to talk about or play with numbers. Thanks,  Mr. Williston

Dear Parents, We have begun a new unit in Math on Patterns and Relations. Your child will be learning how to describe, reproduce, extend and create patterns using manipulative, diagrams, sounds and actions. They will also be asked to translate a repeating pattern from one form to another; an example of this would be to change a diagram pattern to an action pattern. Students will work with patterns with two to four elements and I encourage you and your child to explore the patterns we can find all around us. Thank you, Mr. Williston

Dear Parents,                                      As part of our school’s guidance program our class with met with Mrs. Colwell (Guidance Councillor) for a lesson on Bullying and your child had to write a list of the people he/she would tell if they were being bullied. This would be a wonderful time to talk about this issue with your child and ask them about their list and if you have any questions about this program, please contact Mrs. Comeau or myself. Thank you,  Mr. Williston

Dear Parents,                                      A student in our class has lost her glasses and we cannot find them anywhere. They are pink and should be in a pink case with her name on the inside.  Please help us by checking all book bags and lunch cans as they may have been mistakenly placed in the wrong bag. Thank you for your help,  Mr. Williston
