Our Cross Country meet today at NESS is still on; however
the organizers will make a final decision at noon today if they have to cancel.
NSEE is asking that all
parents to please park at the Sunny Corner arena and walk to the front parking
lot of the school with their child. Coaches will be there to meet the runners. There
will also be a BBQ with drinks for sale and all items are $1.
Due to the Severe Thunderstorm Watch in effect, todays
practice has been cancelled. Runners will be given the complete schedule for
the rest of the season. We hope to see everyone out for the first meet on
Monday, Sept. 16th at NSEE.

We would like to invite you to our
school Open House on Monday September 16th. The Open
House will run from 6 to 7pm and be
held in our cafeteria. The Open house will be followed by the Grade 3 French Immersion parent
information meeting. This is a wonderful
opportunity to learn a little bit more about our school and meet your child’s
teachers.

1. Lockdown
We had a practice lock down at Saint Andrew’s Elementary today. Everything went really well. Please follow the following guidelines at all times when dropping off a student.
When dropping off a student in case of a lock down:
During a lock down, all lights are off in offices and classrooms.
All classroom and office doors will be locked.

Dear Parents/Guardians;
The staff of Saint Andrew’s Elementary
would like to welcome all of you to a new school year and we are looking
forward to having many wonderful learning experiences together. Last year we focused heavily on our school
web page to communicate with our parents and guardians which we will be doing
again this year. All school documents, memos, newsletters and calendars will be
posted on our home page. Sporting
schedules will also be posted although cancellations often occur with very little

to another great year at Saint Andrews Elementary. The first day of school for students
is Tuesday; September 3rd.
Kindergarten students will be following the staggered entry as scheduled in
June. Class lists will be posted outside the school at 8am and our cafeteria
will also be open our first day. All students and family members are asked to
wait on our playground and please take extra care when dropping off students. In
case of rain grade 1 and 2 students will wait in the cafeteria and grades 3 to
5 will be in our gym. Kindergarten students and their parents may go directly
On Monday, June 17th, several members of the Dewey Daily Journalism Club had an opportunity to visit The Vogue Theatre. New owner, Victor Somers, spent some time with the students talking out the future of the historic building. Students also had a chance to tour the old theatre.
