Awards Ceremony

Today, at the awards ceremony, our class had lots to celebrate about!  First, a BIG CONGRATULATIONS goes to everyone in our class for raising the most money per student for our School-Wide Magazine Fundraiser! We raised over $1500.00!!!!  Our class won a pizza party which we will have hopefully next week.Congratulations goes out to Spencer & Grayson for winning the Positive Attitude Award, Marisa & Kieran for winning the Courteous Award, and to Brenden for winning the Top Dog Award this term.   Everyone did a great job and all deserve a big pat on the back! Bravo les amis! Je suis fière de vous tous! :)

Penny Drive

We are doing very well in bringing spare change for our penny drive.  Thus far, our class have collected almost 42$.  There are still classes ahead of us, so lets bring in more money to help purchase helmets for the school. Lets show the other classes what Grade 3BT can do!   Thanks to everyone that has brought money!!!

Bullying Awareness Week (November 14-20th)

St. Andrews Elementary does not tolerate bullying in any form.  All members of the school's community are committed to ensuring a safe and caring environment which promotes personal growth and positive self esteem for all. As par of our commitment, we have been taking part in Bullying Awareness Week, which is held Nov. 13-19th.  The theme this year is "STAND UP".  Friday November 18th will be BLUE FRIDAY. The colour blue represents former Canadian Prime Minister, Lester B. Pearson, who won the Nobel Peace Prize for his work in establishing the United Nations Peacekeepers (who wear blue as a symbol of peace). The message of "STANDING UP" to bullying will be promoted at both the class and school level throughout the week with various activities.  Please check Mrs. Coldwell's teacher page for more information and student made videos.  We will be closing the week with students wearing blue for our school wide celebration of peace. Students are asked to wear BLUE on Friday, Nov. 18th to stand up for PEACE.

Penny Drive

The Home & School is raising funds to purchase Hockey Helmets for use by students of the school.  We want all children to be able to participate in the winter skating with their classmates. We are asking that children bring in their pennies starting Monday, November 7th until December 9th 2011.  There will be a Popsicle Party for the clas that collects the most pennies during this time.

Math Night Tonight!

Math Night is tonight for students in Grades 3-5.  It will be held in the cafeteria at the school between 6:30-7:30.  Come have fun with your children to learn about different fun math games and activities.
