Thank you to all parents/guardians that have come to our "Special Person Day" concert last Friday.  It was a successful event!  A big thank you from the entire class goes to Dakota's aunt for bringing everyone a nice treat.  We sure appreciated the delicious smiley cookies!

Your child will likely pass through several phases during this first term.  At first he/she will be apprehensive and unsure, then move on to feeling frustrated, determined and finally, will get to the ‘ahaa’ stage when the light goes on.  The last three phases may repeat themselves as we cycle through each theme.  Making mistakes is a huge part of language acquisition because it is how we learn the fastest; by jumping in and trying it out listening for corrections and trying again.  In class, a positive, ‘safe’ environment will be emphasized, so that students maintain the confidence to keep on trying.
There will be an important information session on the French Immersion program this Thursday, September30th, 2010 at 5:30 pm.  The session will be held in my classroom.  Pizza and beverage will be provided.

Our class have learned a great amount in the last two weeks! They will soon be ready to start working on their major project; a book about themselves and their surroundings.  This will require many different types of pictures (from baby pictures to vacation trips) and scrapbooking material. Please assure your child has the required materials.  Be advised that the pictures will be used (cut and glued) in their book.  I know the students are very anxious to start this project!
