Hello everyone.  The website has been down for a few days so we are now happy that it is up and running.  Here are a few things happening this week.   *  We are working on the letter Dd this week.  Show and Tell will be on Friday so I hope everyone does a dynamic job digging around the house for something that begins with the /d/ sound.     *  In Math, we continue to work on the Exploring Geometry and Measurement Unit.  Students are having fun learning about the different 3D shapes.    *  We will be celebrating Family Literacy Day on Friday, January 27th by reading books together.  The teachers may even put on a little show for the students in support of this.

The Christmas break is fast approaching.  Here are a few things to remember this week.   *  We will be reviewing letters that we already introduced so we won't be introducing a new one this week.  There will be no homework this week.   *  We will be reading the Polar Express on Wednesday, doing some related activities, and watching the movie.  We will send home a note to remind you.  We will transform the classroom so students can have a train ride.  They can come to school dressed in their pajamas.  We will also have our Christmas party in the afternoon, beginning at 12:45.  Parents are welcome to come.   *  Thursday is Movie Day in the gym.    *  Friday is only a half day.  Pick-ups will be dismissed from the cafeteria and bus students will be dismissed from the gym.   I hope you all have a happy and healthy holiday season.  Merry Christmas.

*  We will be working on the letter Ee this week in Literacy.  It's another hard working vowel because it has 2 sounds.  It says /e/ as in effort and it also says it's own name, as in eat.  So many things begin with this exciting letter...egg, elephant, excellent, extraordinary, eggplant, eels, and elk.  Show and Tell will be on Friday so try to find something to bring in that has the /e/ sound.  *  This will be our week of homework until after the Christmas break.   *  Our Christmas Concert will be on Thursday, Dec. 15, beginning at 9:00.  Our students worked very hard on their performances and are very excited to perform for you.  Hope you will be able to make it.       *  The Christmas Dinner is on Friday, Dec. 16th.  Turkey and all the trimmings will be served.   *  All Library books must be returned this week.

Hello everyone.  I hope you are all rested after a 3 day weekend.  Thank you to all parents who attended Parent/Teacher interviews.  We had a great turnout.   Here are some important things happening this week at school.   *  We are working on the letter Kk this week.  Show and Tell will be on Friday so have fun hunting for something that begins with the /k/ sound.         *  We are going skating on Wednesday, Dec. 7th.  Please make sure your child has a pair of skates and the proper helmet.  Bicycle helmets are NOT aloud.  If your child needs skates, please let me know before Wednesday morning and I will try and get them.       *  The food and penny drives are still in full swing.  Please bring in any if you can.
