Our spelling words this week are;

Everyone did a fantastic job on their second spelling test. We will be starting our Thanksgiving story tomorrow and it should be in our bookbags Friday! In math, we are working on growing patterns. We are learning a lot of new things about patterns. Today, we lost all but one letter on our RESPECT wall. So we are hoping that tomorrow will be a much better day.

Well, our first week of school flew by. We've already reviewed and discussed Fire Drill and
Lockdown procedures, as well as School Bus Safety. All of our students are Daily 5 experts and
we've already had our first 'Read to Self' today. Everyone did a fantastic job and hopefully next week we will have
an opportunity to start 'Read to Partner". We've been busy in math reviewing addition facts and
fact families. We had our first assembly yesterday where we reviewed all the school, cafeteria and playground
rules. Afterward, the teachers put on a funny skit called Ribbon Rescue and Mr.Williston rode a bike around
the gym because he was late for a wedding. We can't wait to see what week two will bring.
Signing off,

Well, we sure did have a busy day today. There were lots of hearts and love floating around in this classroom. We had a wonderful Valentine's Day party and some of the students even kissed a frog!!!
During the morning, before all the sweet treats, we learned about missing addends _+ 5=11. Can you remember how we answer these questions? We also worked on our doubles strategy. It's becoming so easy for us that I think it's time to move on to a new strategy. Most had a chance to work on their pen pal letters and we should be sending those out by tomorrow! Hopefully, we will see everyone tomorrow.....as long as the snow stops!
