Reminder to students: Tomorrow we will be having our Math test-make sure to go over your review tonight.   All Library books need to be returned THIS Thursday , please bring any library books back this week that are at home.   The June Calendar is being sent home today. Make sure to put it on your fridge, as there are a lot of dates to remember, ie. Field trip, Awards day, Grade 5 banquet, Black light show.   Last day of school is June 21st- This is a HALF day, so students will be finished school at 11:30am.

  Come and join us as we welcome the Tall Ships to the Miramichi. It's going to be a fun time!   Time: 4:30 – 6:00 pm Place: St. Andrew’s Elementary Playground   We will have games, music, sign making and more.  Come dressed up as pirates and have fun. BBQ: hotdogs, pop, and water will be sold for $1.00 each.

    The grade 5 students have been asked to bring 2-3 baby pictures in. They are being put together as a slide show for their Grade 5 Banquet! Please remember to bring them in as soon as possible as June is fast approaching.

  REMINDER: The Grade 5 Students will be having their Grade 5 Picture taken on Wednesday May 8th, @ 2pm! Remember to dress appropriately and bring your smiles! :)

Our Class will be participating on Friday for World Water day, by creating Art and focusing on the importance of fresh water.         World Water Day is held annually on 22 March As a means of focusing attention on the importance of freshwater and advocating for the sustainable management of freshwater resources. http://www.worldwaterday.org   In December 2010, The United Nations General Assembly declared 2013 As the United Nations International Year of Water Cooperation. The Objective of this year is to raise awareness of the potential for, and value of increased cooperation in relation to water.

 We are finishing our unit on Patterns & Equations. Here are some word problems of the week that the students created!       1)Sam and Max ran equal amount of laps around their block. Altogether, they ran 26 laps. How many laps did Sam and Max run each? By Assiah   2)Dave had 144 warheads. He split them between twelve friends. How many did each friend receive? By Zach R   3)I have 88 rounds of a glock. I have 11 bags of glocks in total. How many are in each bag?  By Bryce   4)Bob had 144 hockey cards. There are 12 in each stack. How many stacks of hockey cards are there? By Jason   5)Leanne had 2 trays of lemonade. Altogether she had 200 cups of lemonade. How many cupes will fit on each tray? By Nancy   6)Sapphire has 200 pieces of paper. She bought 25 packs of paper. How many pieces of paper are in each pack? By Shannon   7)Sara had some bags of gummies.   Here are a few Math problems of the week created by the grade 5 students. They are working on the Unit: Patterns and equations.     1) (Nicole) There were 101 students at an assembly. Everytime a student left, the total number of students would decrease by one. How many students were at the assembly after 5 students left. Find the equation.   2) (Ben) Matt owns a store. He sells lollipops in his store. They cost $4.00 the first day he opened the store. The price increases by $1.00 each day. How much does one lollipop cost on the 6th day? Find the equation.   3)(Colby) Dr. David has 4 test tubes in his lab on his first week. Dr. David gets 1 test tube every week after that. How many test tubes does he get in 6 weeks? Find the equation.   4) (Zach R) I have some candy. I want to give each friend I see, 1 more than the person before them. I give the first person 4 candies. How much candy does the 6th friend get? Find the equation.   5) (Jason) Dave has $100 dollars. Every day, he buys a bag of chips that cost $1.00. How much money would he have at the end of the week? Find the equation.   6) (Angela) A man was selling tickets that cost $1.00. There were 100 people in line to buy a ticket. How much money did he make selling 5 tickets and who did he sell the 5th ticket to? Find the equation.   7) (Shannon) Linda bakes 101 coolies. Every day, she gives 1 away to a friend. On the 1st day, she gives one away, leaving her with 100 cookies. On the fifth day, she has 96 cookies left. Write an expression for the problem.
