The St. Andrews Elementary annual remembrance day program received a lot of positive comments from those veterans in attendance and its attentive audience. The students' musical selections were performed with quality and their oral presentations left a lasting impression on all of us. Another highlight and new to this year's program was a slide show that shared the many family connections that exist within our learning community and our veterans. How do you get your child to eat in the mornings?
Serve realistic portions.
Children’s stomachs are smaller than ours.
If there is too much food offered at breakfast it will be difficult for them to finish. Serve smaller nutritious meals and snacks throughout day.
One serving from a food group can be divided up. For example, half a Food Guide Serving of Meat and Alternatives can be served at two different meals such as one egg at lunch and half a chicken breast (1 oz) for dinner.
Please visit Healthy Breakfasts Healthy Learners for more tips on how to get children to eat breakfast.
