St. Andrews Elementary will be participating in the annual Terry Fox Run on Friday September 19th. The K-2 students will be walking following the morning announcement at around 8:35am to Waterford Green. Students in grades 3-5 will be leaving for their walk at 10:15am and they will also be walking to Waterford Green. Family members are welcome to attend our walk and are asked to meet us on the playground.
Adults are asked to use the Frost Street entrance for dropping off children by car in the morning and for pick up after school. At all times EXTREME CAUTION must be used in this area and it is designed for DROP OFF only in the morning. Vehicles are not permitted to park in this area. Vehicles that linger in this area are causing congestion on Frost Street.
Individuals that wish to remain with their child in the morning must park in the St. Andrew’s Street parking lot.
The following entrances are to be used at St. Andrews: Bus students – St. Andrews Street/Chatham Ave.
The students and staff of Saint Andrew’s Elementary had a practice lockdown drill today. We are very pleased with how our students and staff handled our first lockdown drill this year and we ask that you please review follow the following guidelines with your child at home.
When visiting the school or dropping off a student in case of a lock down remember:
During a lockdown, all lights are off in the office and all classrooms.
All classroom and office doors will be locked.
Students, teachers and staff will not be visible as they are away from windows and doors.

Re: Open House
St. Andrew’s Elementary will be having their Open House, Tuesday, September 9th at 6:00 pm. We will be meeting the staff, reviewing what St. Andrew’s has to offer and asking for volunteers for Home & School and PSSC.
We hope to see you there.
Thank you to the Laureate Kappa Chapter Beta Sigma Phi members for their wonderful donation of school supplies to our school. These school supplies will be well used by our students.
We are looking for volunteers to help restock the shelves our newly renovated library. Help is needed on Friday Sept. 5th, Monday Sept. 8th (morning only) and Thursday Sept. 11th.
If you are interested in volunteering on any of these days, please call the school at 778 6081.

The first day for students in grade 1 to 5 is Tuesday, September 2nd. All Kindergarten students have a staggered entry and you should have received a letter stating your child’s first day.We are looking forwarding to seeing you next week.
