Bienvenue en 5ième année!!

 Welcome grade 5 students to Mme Hitchman's Grade 5 class! I hope everyone had a great 1st week back and are ready to have a terrific year in grade 5!  Reminders: Please read 20 minutes each night and log in your homework duotangs.All homework will be written in the Agendas and are to be initialed by your parent each day. Gym is on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, so please bring a change of clothes.  Merçi, Mme Hitchman

June Book Order

Reminder for Miss Hitchman's grade 5 students that the JUNE book order is Due on Monday, June 9th. Please have your order in by Monday if you would like to order something.

SPELLATHON Reminder

 Just a reminder that TUESDAY is the last day to bring in Spellathon Money for the fundraiser!! Remember that this is our biggest fundraiser of the school year! Students can bring in any amount to have their name go in to the draw for the grade level prizes!

Science Project

Students have been working on their final science project in class. They have been designing a way to collect water in a survival situation. The projects are looking very good and we will be presenting them on Monday and Tuesday- May 12th and13th.

Homework April 2-April 4th

 Math: Finish questions assigned in class on Volume and AreaRead 20 minutes each night and respond.Science: Finish handout on Changes in MatterLanguage Arts: Finish good copies of Mystery Writer Stories.Get March Spelling Test signed  **Reminder: Please bring gym clothes on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays and be prepared for class.

Parent/teacher meeting

Parent/teacher meetings will take place tomorrow (Thursday) April 3rd from 6-8 pm. It will be on a drop-in basis.  Any parents who would like to meet to discuss the report card or their child's progress can come between these times.  Thank you very much. -Miss. Hitchman

Grade 5 Skating

Electronic Day tomorrow!!

Friday, January 31st students will be permitted to bring electronic items (i.e. iPods, mp3 players etc.) to school as part of a fundraiser for our school playground, developed with the help of our leadership students.It will cost $1 per electronic device which permits your child to use their devices. Devices are only to be used during recess times and a special half hour in-class designation time. Please note that your child is responsible (lost, broken, etc) for their device(s). If the device is not being properly used or used inappropriately, the teacher has the right to take the device from the students. In this case, parents/guardians will need to come and pick the device up from the school. Thank you in advance!

Grade 5 Clothing

If any grade 5 students would like to buy a t-shirt, a sweater or a hoodie with our school name and logo, they must bring in the money before February 4th.

Week of January 27-31

 Reminder to grade 5 intensive french students and parents: The week of January 27-31, the grade 5 students will be writing their French writing assessments.It is encouraged that students arrive on time and get a good night sleep. Bring a water bottle if needed, and sharpened pencils.  Good luck to all students! You will do great!

Skating

Reminder that the Grade 5 Classes will be going skating on Wednesday. Remember to bring your skating helmet, skates and proper clothing.

Grade 5 Canoeing

Reminder that Mme Hitchman's class will be going canoeing on Friday, January 10th. Students are to return the permission form as soon as possible.   Remember to bring your swimsuit, a towel, extra clothing incase something gets wet and your snack as we will be eating our snack at the pool.   -Mme Hitchman
