We had a wonderful first week of school and when we were all together as one big group, the day went very well. On the first day of school I wore my hair down but on Friday, I wore it up. One student asked me if I was the same Mrs. Allison that was at school the day before, just with my hair up. I thought that was so cute that I had to share it.
Here are a few things happening this week.
* In Literacy, we will be working on Word Awareness. We also have been learning the signals and sounds of Zoo Phonics. Homework will be sent home this week. Each student will practice printing their name every night.
* Our class will be visiting the Library on Mondays each week throughout the year. Students will have a Library bag that their book much stay in when they are not reading it. Please make sure the library book returns each Monday in order to get a new one.
* Tuesday, Sept. 11th - Meet the Teacher/Open House from 6:00 - 7:30 in the school cafeteria.
* On Friday, Sept. 14th at 10:30 am, we will be going on a Terry Fox Walk. We will be leaving shortly after recess is finished and walking to the Rodd and back. Students are encouraged to wear proper footwear. If it is raining on Friday, we will walk on Monday, Sept. 17th at the same time.
* Scholastic Book orders will be going home this week as well. They will be due back on Sept. 21st. Here are some of the benefits of ordering from Scholastic:
