Here are a few things happening this week:
* In Literacy, we will be working on the letter R r. So many words begin with this letter, such as, race, rainbow, rocket, rug, ring, raccoon, rabbit, rake, and red. There will be no paper and pencil homework until the new year, but please keep reading and reviewing sight words on a daily basis. Show and Tell will be on Friday so have fun hunting for something that has the /r/ sound.
* In Math, we are still working on the numbers 1-5.
* Tuesday, Dec. 11th - Christmas Concert in the school gym, beginning at 9:00 am for K-3. 50/50 tickets will be sold and the draw for the Home and School Christmas basket will take place.
* Thursday, Dec. 13th - Cocoa House in the school gym, beginning at 6:15 pm. Anyone wishing to take part, please send in the information sheet. We will also be having a silent dessert auction that will take place in the cafeteria. The bidding for the auction will begin at 4:30 pm.
* We have been reading with Mme. Prince's grade 4 French Immersion class since September and to celebrate with our Buddies, we are having a Christmas celebration on Monday, December 17th. We will be watching a movie and having snacks. Mme. Prince and I are asking each student to bring in $2.00 so that we can go out and purchase the snacks for the students. If your child wants to bring in his/her own snacks, they are more than welcome.
