There will be no more written Homework or Spelling Words as it is nearing the end of the school year. It is still very important to continue reading aloud each night for at least 10 mins..   There are many exciting activities coming up in the next two weeks so notices will still be going home in folders.  Please don't forget to check the folder each night!   Fitness Run test in Phys. Ed. class will be held Wednesday morning.  Please make sure you are dressed appropriately.

All Grade 2 students will be writing the District Writing Assessment this week.  We will be working on the same piece of writing for most of this week.  Students will be working independently on choosing a topic, writing a draft copy, editing and revising and doing a final good copy.  We will begin each morning at 9 am.  Please try to arrive on time for school on these days.
Between May 22nd and May 29th all Grade 2 students will be writing the Provincial Reading Assessment.  They will be asked to read several pieces of text and answer multiple choice questions.  We have been practicing how to answer these types of questions in class.  It is very important on these days for students to arrive at school on time and that they have had a good night's sleep and a good breakfast.   At this same time, all students in Grade 2 will be completing the District Writing Assessment.  Students will be asked to produce a piece of writing independently from start to finish. They wil need to choose their own topic, develop their ideas and write their story in a well organized form using good word choices, and proper punctuation and capital letters without any assistance from the classroom teacher.
