This month students have been working very hard! In Literacy we have been celebrating poetry month by having students read their favourite poems. Students have also been focusing on C.A.F.E. to help with reading. C- comprehension, A- accuracy, F- fluence and E- expand vocabulary. Students have been also finishing up their Bitstrip comic projects where they were asked to pick a topic that they learned so far this year. Rubrics were given to students to help with understanding what to include. In Math, students finished up Unit 4 on Measurement and are now working on Unit 5- Fractions. We hope to be finished with fractions next week. Students are learning terms such as one-halve, two- quarters, and three-fifths.  They are really enjoying the fraction unit. In Science we have started a new unit on Plant growth. Students have been learning different parts of a plant and what their job is. We are soon going to plant tomatoes for the Tomatoshphere project. (More information to follow on the project). In Social Studies we are continuing to learn about New Brunswick with a focus on communities and the people that live in New Brunswick.
