Within the ASD-N school district all schools will be equipped with a security system. This system includes a camera, intercom and a video screen in the office. For the system to work properly, all doors of the school will be locked (this includes the front doors). When arriving at the school the following will occur:
1. You will need to go to the camera that is located on the brick wall beside the front door.
2. You will need to push the button and inform the office you are there. A video will be displayed on a screen located in the office.
3. The person in the office will ask you to identity yourself and state the purpose of your visit.
4. The person in the office will then push the buzzer to unlock the door to let you in (Left-hand door).
5. As always, you will need to stop at the office when you enter the building to sign-in and obtain a visitor’s pass if necessary.
The new system will be activated after our information session on Wednesday February 25th at 6:00 pm.
Along with this memo, we will be posting this information on our website and sending out a voicemail message. With any change there may be some growing pains with this new system, but our main focus is always to keep our students safe.
