Dear Parents/Guardians:
Ian Baillie Primary School and Saint Andrew’s Elementary School are working together for the next year to fundraise for our new school’s Playground. We have formed a Committee – “Miramichi East Playground Committee” through both Home and School Associations. Over the next 12 + months we will fundraise through many different activities to reach our goal. For those who are not aware, the Government does not pay for the entire cost of the Playground. It is estimated that the cost will be approximately $250 000 to create a safe and happy environment that includes all children of different ages and capabilities. This will be a community effort for a community school.
Our first event takes place this Saturday, May 28th, 2016. We have sent a couple of letters home already regarding our BIG YARD SALE taking place at Saint Andrew’s Elementary School Gym from 8am – 12pm. We will be selling muffins, tea/coffee/water all for $1.00/each as well as 50 / 50 tickets for $2.00 per square. A Bake Sale will be on-site too. There will also be a donation box for those who wish to donate cash. If you would like to rent a table, please come to the Gym on Friday evening with your $10 fee to set up between the hours of 6-8pm or Saturday morning at 7am. This event takes place rain or shine and there will definitely be something for everyone’s taste! Come on out and support our children!
Our next fundraiser is through Mabel’s Labels. Please see the attached poster for details on how to order online. This will be an on-going fundraiser for the year. Mabel’s Labels gives the schools a percentage of the sales for every order made under our name “Miramichi East Playground Committee”. Their labels are durable, microwave safe, dishwasher save and clothes washer/dryer safe. They are the ideal method to reduce lost and found items in the schools as well. Think of this fundraiser when you are doing your back to school shopping for your children. Label, label and label some more!
