Can you believe it is the last week of May already! Time flies when you're having fun!Math - Tomorrow is the math test on the measurement unit. The review sheet the student took home last week was VERY similar to the test and we have been reviewing since then to go ver any questions that may have come up. We will start our last unit this week, Geometry. We will continue to review all past units through daily warm ups and projects, with an indepth review of Fractions to end the year with. French - We will continue to work on reading skills (decoding, comprehension and fluency) daily. We have begun to brainstorm, plan and work on creative narratives (first one story, as a class, then individual stories.) This will be the last big written assignment for the year. As always, it is important to always communicate using the French language in class, or anywhere on school grounds when possible, to ensure the oral communication skills continue to strengthen.Spelling words this week are related to science and math units. We have been going over them since the middle of last week as part of a mini lesson on feminin and masculin words. They are: la terre, la tige, le soleil, une racine, une feuille, de l'eau, un gramme, une province, une éducation & sauvage.Science - We are going through the steps of the scientific method and keeping a close eye on our tomato plants. Most have sprouted and are growing fast! We will begin to discuss different soil types and review the parts of a plant and needs of a plant, as well.Homework: Reading each night (guided reading book, or a book of the child's choice-French) Sound book (small rhyming books that focus on a particular French sound) Math sheet Thursday (because of the unit test being on Tuesday this week.)I hope you all have a wonderful week. See you in June! :)
