Week of May 12 - 16

Happy Monday students and families of 3C!  I hope everyone spoiled their mother's yesterday!Important reminders:  - Spell-a-thon pledges/donations are due back Wednesday May 14th - Spell-a-thon will take place Wednesday morning at 8:30am (a notice will go home, tomorrow, with the top 4 who moved on to the grade 3 spelling bee.)French - This week in French we are putting the finishing touches on our procedural writing pieces (How to...).  We are reviewing sounds daily, practicing reading and focusing on comprehension during our Daily 5 and morning routines.  This weeks spelling words are: fête, tomate, ballon, perimètre, facile, demande, minute, madame, arriver, malade.Math - This week in math class, we are finding the perimetre of shapes in cm and m.  Once students have mastered this, we will move on to mass in kg and g.  As always, we review past concepts throughout the week with our 'questions of the day'.Social Studies- Some groups are finishing up their NB brochures in class this week.  This will conclude our Social Studies units for the year.Science - We will plant our tomato seeds from the Tomatosphere project this Thursday and start an observation chart to track their growth as we explore the cycle of plants and different soil conditions.Homework:- Reading daily (log)- Sound book daily (as part of year end sound review)- Math worksheet Tuesday and ThursdayI hope everyone has a great week!
