Looks like Spring is finally going to make an appearance. Things will be all mud before we know it!Today, as part of the recent Mango challlenge our class made a smoothie and everyone who wanted to, had a sample (or two). Most of the students really enjoyed this and asked if we could do it everyday! Yay for healthy snacks! Our smoothie did not have milk or yogurt in it (allergies) but we discussed how milk products are often included. Health - Today we worked on our flossing models (mini marshmellow teeth, flossed with yarn) and we continue to journal our daily food intake until Tuesday night. This week we will continue our discussions on good dental hygiene, healthy eating for growing bodies, people we can trust and talk to, and having a positive self-image.French - We continue to review decoding and reading comprehension strategies as a whole class and in guided reading groups.New spelling words: déjà, loin, devant, derrière, presque, encore, dessus, dessous, entre, milieu. We will also be writing our procedural pieces this week.Math - We are finishing up division; its link with repeated subtraction (14÷2 = 7 is the same as 14 - 2 - 2 - 2 - 2 - 2 - 2 - 2 = 0; fourteen take away two, 7 times); the link between multiplication and division and reviewing the unit.
