Welcome back!  It's the end of April already!Important reminder: There is no school for students Thursday and Friday this week. (May 1 & 2) French - We continue to practice Daily 5, where we are focusing on reading comprehension (making connections to the stories we read)   The new spelling words were introduced today in math class and through the books we read.  The list will go home tomorrow after we have worked more with them in class.  (They are: seulement, souvent, pendant, peut-être, ensuite, d'accord, centimètre, mesure, autour et bonsoir.)Math - We are continuing to work on measurement.  We have finished measuring time with pendulums, minutes, seconds, hours, days, weeks, months, & years.  We have moved onto measuring in centimetres, why it is important to use a standard unit of measure and the proper way to use a ruler.Health - This week we are finishing up our health unit with a posivity activity, as well as a few other review activities to tie up all loose ends.  Social studies - We are finishing up this week with creating NB information brochures and reviewing for a small quiz on materials covered so far this year.  The quiz will be mid week after the long weekend (for students).Homework/Reminders: Reading daily (guided reading book or book of choice - French) Math sheet  on Tuesday Book orders are due back Wednesday at the latest.  Spell-a-thon kicks off this week (notices/words go home Tuesday)Afgahan tickets & money is due!  The draw is taking place APRIL 30th before the kids have a long weekend!
