Here are a few things happening this week: * In Literacy, we will be working on the letter A a. This is a hard working vowel because it has two sounds. We can find the short A a sound in words such as alligator, Allie, apple, actor, add, alphabet, and ambulance. The long A a says its own name and we can find the long A a sound in words such as acorn, apron, ace, ape, Avery, April, and angel. Show and Tell will be on Friday so happy hunting for something with the /a/ sound. * In Math, we started Unit 2: Numbers to 5. * Please remember that if your child is absent from school, you must send in a written excuse stating why he/she has been absent. Thank you for your cooperation. * Please review sight words every night. I will begin testing at the end of October on the sight words learned to date.
