Week of Nov. 12 - Nov. 15

Posted: November 10, 2013

Here are a few things happening this week: *In Literacy, we will be working on the letter N n.  Isn’t that neat?  Some words that begin with this sound are nice, Nicholas, Niomi, number, new, November, noodles, nickel, nurse, nest, and necklace.  Show and Tell will be on Friday.  Please remember that I would like you to find something from home to bring in.  Have fun hunting for something that begins with the /n/ sound.   *In Math we are working on numbers 1-5 and making combinations of each.    *On Wednesday, November 13th, both Kindergarten classes will be going skating at the LBA.  Each student must have skates AND a helmet in order to participate. Those who need skates, please let me know by Tuesday and I will try to fit your child into a pair.  It is also a good idea for students to wear snow pants and mittens because the rink is very cold.   *Please remember to review sight words on a daily basis and to read every night.  Reading consistently will help with fluency.   *Parent/teacher interview sheets were sent home last week.  Please send these back as soon as you can so I can make appointment times.   *Scholastic Book Orders are due on Friday, November 15th.  Books make a great Christmas gift.
