Welcome back! I would like to thank all the parents/guardians that were able to make it out for parent-teacher interviews. It was nice to see you all and discuss the many positive things your child has accomplished thus far in French. We will be skating this Wednesday at the Lord Beaverbrook Rink. Our scheduled ice time is from 8:45 until 9:45. Students require a helmet. If you child does not have their own pair of skates or a helmet, please let me know as we have extra skates and helmets at school. Parents/guardians are also permitted to skate with us. French - Aside from continuing with our Family theme, we will be learning Christmas holiday vocabulary in class. It is hard to believe, but we are only 4 weeks away until Christmas vacation. We will also develop an idea/writing web in order to help us draft a letter to Santa. Please ensure reading occurs nightly and that students are recording their books into their reading logs. I have extra copies in class once their first sheet is complete. Student Show and Tell a.k.a Montre et Raconte will commence this week. It is always a big hit with students, and I look forward to seeing the many surprises students bring to class. Please note that animals/pets are not allowed. Students may bring a picture on their pet if they choose. Math - We continue to practice our numbers and mental math strategies (i.e. doubles +/- 1, 2 etc, making 10, estimation, rounding). Our focus this week will be adding and subtracting of 3 digit numbers. Homework may/may not be sent home depending how much is covered in class. We will also begin to have weekly mini quizzes on material covered in class throughout the week. Reminders: - Reading is to occur nightly. Please record on sheet. - Please sign your child’s agenda to let me know you have reviewed homework. - “Show and Tell” for students begins Tuesday - Skating Wednesday - Library Thursday  Let's have a great week! As always if you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact me.
